Readings of young poetry about vulnerability in Nigeria and Sweden

UILF 2025

Logan February and Hanna Rajs have both been described as very promising young poets. February, or Logan Toluwalase Akinwale, which is her real name, was the youngest ever literary laureate in the Future Awards Africa competition. At the age of 21, she had already published three poetry collections in three years. Moreover, she has made a name for herself as an active advocate for LGBTQ rights in Nigeria. Here she reads poems she has selected herself.

Poet Hanna Rajs reads February’s poems in Swedish translation by Birgitta Wallin editor of the literary journal “Karavan”. Rajs also reads a selection of poems from her collection ”Samma, mamma” which received the 2024 Literature Prize from Svenska Dagbladet.
