The opening speech will be given by Lola Shoneyin, author, poet, founder and leader of the Book Buzz Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting literary and artistic creation in Nigeria. She is also the founder of the largest literary festival in Africa, Aké Arts and Book Festival. She has won awards for her poetry and the internationally bestselling novel “The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives” in Nigeria, the USA and the UK.
Music by Sofia Berg Böhm
Sofia Berg Böhm is an actress and singer with a wide repertoire. She is tonight joined by composer and oudplayer Mousa Elias and together they will play and sing songs in several languages, from several traditions.
Poetry by Fady Joudah
The evening offers a taste of the poetry collection “(…)” by the American-Palestinian poet Fady Joudah. The reading will be done by poet, author and playwright Johannes Anyuru, who also translated the work into Swedish together with poet Athena Farrokhzad.
